FOLLOWING THE Live8 concerts, just a few days earlier, a further concert is being organised by Midge Ure at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on July 6, coinciding with the first day of the G8 summit, taking place a short distance away at Gleneagles. The concert will feature a line-up of major music stars including Travis, Dido, Texas, Annie Lennox and Ronan Keating among others. Live8 organiser Bob Geldof has already called for one million people to descend on Edinburgh to protest and put pressure on world leaders to take action to address poverty around the world. The concert will be the climax to the day of demonstrations. The musical extravaganza is to be televised by BBC Scotland.
