Between the largest Portuguese golf tournament and EDGA (formerly the European Disabled Golf Association), there is a social responsibility partnership that is bearing fruit in Vilamoura. For the fourth consecutive year, EDGA will be the official social responsibility partner for the Portugal Masters.
On Thursday, October 24, EDGA is offering the opportunity for two people with a disability to visit the Portugal Masters, receive a free golf lesson and obtain some EDGA merchandising (book and shirt).
To receive one of the places, those interested should write to Tony Bennett at [email protected]
In your email, let EDGA know the nature of your impairment, outline why you wish to receive this experience, and what it would mean to you. Two of the entries will be gifted a golf experience and will be contacted by October 18.
EDGA has a deep connection to Portugal. Over the last six years, 10 tournaments and diverse development programmes in rehabilitation centres, schools and associations have been delivered in Portugal.
Funds raised at the Portugal Masters have allowed EDGA to donate equipment, literature and provide training to professionals and coaches throughout the country. EDGA is finalising the translation of the book “Mulligan: Tough Love and Second Chances” into Portuguese.
The Portugal Masters tournament returns to the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura from October 24 to 27.
