ALGARVE-BASED environmental association Almargem is to receive EU funds to develop ecotourism projects in the inland area of the region and the western coastline.
These projects will be tied to the 240 km Via Algarviana pedestrian route, and will be centred on preserving local industries, culture and resources.
Almargem will work in partnership with several câmaras and non-governmental entities to better define how the funds will be used throughout the region.
The association will be hosting public discussions on October 22, 27 and 28 in Alcoutim, Aljezur and Portimão.
