More than 200,000 homes in Portugal have been granted energy certification, a requirement by law to be able to sell a property.
According to Paulo Santos of Direcção de Auditoria de Edifícios da Agência para a Energia, the authority that grants energy certification to property, the majority of energy efficient homes in Portugal are class A, which “goes to show that the building industry is now using more sustainable methods of construction.”
Around 15,000 energy certificates are issued every month.
