The European Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, says he has “full confidence” in Portugal’s prime minister, António Costa, despite the ongoing investigations in Portugal related to lithium and hydrogen projects, rejecting impacts on the country’s green commitment.
“I honestly don’t think so, that the case that is happening in Portugal could affect [the ‘green’ and energy transition]. It will affect the Portuguese political scenario – it already has – and I emphasise my total confidence in the prime minister,” said Paolo Gentiloni in an interview with Lusa and other European media in Brussels.
