easyJet links Faro to Birmingham and London Southend

Airline celebrates 10th anniversary with four new routes in Portugal

easyJet has announced four new routes to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Lisbon base.

The new routes will link Lisbon to Porto Santo from June 2 to September 25 (Thursdays and Sundays), Porto to Prague from May 4 to October 29 (Wednesdays and Saturdays) and Faro to Birmingham from May 1 to October 26 (Wednesdays and Sundays) and to London Southend from May 2 to October 28 (Mondays and Fridays).

easyJet now has 16 aircraft in Portugal (six in Lisbon, six in Porto and four in Faro), where it employs more than 550 people, 180 of whom in Lisbon.

Speaking with “great enthusiasm” about the 10th anniversary milestone, easyJet Portugal general manager José Lopes said the airline has been working to strengthen its position at Portuguese airports.

easyJet has invested in its Portuguese bases as part of a growth process according to the opportunities that arise. This brings benefits that are not limited to profits for the company. Besides, the new routes will allow us to strengthen what we have to offer and give our clients more possibilities to travel, be it for work or leisure,” Lopes added.

“We are working on recovery, and to do so, we need the support of deciding institutions in order to guarantee greater freedom for people to travel.”
