Eastern European countries promote tourism in Portugal

MINISTRIES FOR Tourism of Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic are joining forces to promote the countries’ tourism to the Portuguese market on January 17, 18 and 19, at the Atrium Saldanha shopping centre.

Various promotional activities will take place including competitions and giveaways. On January 19, a party aimed at Portuguese tour operators, travel agents and journalists is being held at the Hard Rock Café in Lisbon. There will also be a stand at the capital’s major annual tourism fair, Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (read front page story), which will offer visitors the chance to win holidays to those eastern European countries. These initiatives have the support of various private entities and tour operators and it is hoped that they will encourage more Portuguese to choose Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic for their holidays abroad.
