Easter riding fun in Almancil

Pinetrees Riding Centre holds traditional Easter Competition in aid of Ukrainian refugees

Pinetrees Riding Centre will be a holding their traditional Easter Competition Party on Thursday, April 14 to raise funds, or items, to support newly-arrived Ukrainian refugees who are being welcomed into homes in Almancil. The event will also aim to help children in need in Almancil with a present of an Easter Egg.

The riders will take part in a variety of equestrian events but spectators are very welcome to come along, mix and mingle, and support the day.

The day starts at 10am with riding classes, sponsored by Villas &Vacations, Lda who are supplying rosettes in blue and yellow (Ukrainian flag colours). Local businesses are supporting the event by offering voucher prizes in addition to the rosettes.

During the lunch break, you can, if you wish, wear your traditional Easter bonnet (on foot) – ideal for all ages from tiny tots to grannies. Catering will be in the capable hands of Gisela with her team from Algarve Fine Foods, and Wine & Co will introduce you to a selection of Portuguese wines. O Croissant Marafade will tempt you with their mouth-watering mini croissants and Tomás from Apicultura Algarve will bring his honey for you to try.

After lunch, Fancy Dress on horseback is always popular (even the horse sometimes gets dressed up!). The afternoon events will entertain with an Obstacle Course, which includes some optional jumps, followed by Musical Chairs.

The Almancil association Doina is coordinating the support for the Ukrainians and the Vicentina ladies will distribute the Easter Eggs to children in need in Almancil.
