With the traditional Easter cake ‘folar’ as the star of the show, São Marcos da Serra in Silves will host its 18th Feira do Folar between March 25 and 27. It will be held in front of the town’s church.
Besides showcasing the delicious cake – one of the town’s specialties alongside its bread – the event will also feature concerts, dances and religious celebrations.
“The event aims to promote the municipality’s inland areas and local culture, highlighting people’s know-how, their traditions, gastronomy and craftsmanship,” said organisers.
Festivities begin at 11am and finish at 9pm on March 25 and 26, and at 8pm on March 27.
Feira do Folar is organised by Silves council, with the support of the local parish council, Serrano Futebol Clube, the humanitarian association of São Marcos and Crédito Agrícola.
