The East Algarve International Choir is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special performance on Saturday, April 15 at the Irish Bar Black Anchor in Tavira from 4pm.
Holding weekly rehearsals in Santa Luzia, the East Algarve International Choir is composed of 50 men and women from nine countries who are keen to engage with their audiences inviting people to join in and sing along.
The choir’s repertoire consists of traditional songs in seven languages, always accompanied by professional musicians (the choir is still looking for a bass guitarist!).
They perform in old people’s homes and at special events in the East Algarve, “bringing joy and pleasure for both the audience and ourselves”.
And as Rineke Hofman from the choir told the Resident: “Our first report and picture were published in your newspaper!”
