TWO EARTHQUAKES measuring 3.1 and 3.4 on the Richter scale went virtually unnoticed in the Alentejo and Algarve regions on Monday.
According to the meteorological institute, the first weaker earthquake affected Lagos and Portimão around 6pm and was followed five hours later by a second tremor with an epicentre 10 kilometres east of Mora in the Alentejo region. The second tremor was recorded in six counties, but neither caused material or human damage.
