An earthquake occurred on Tuesday night at 11.09pm.
Registering a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale, the epicentre was 85kms south of Cape St. Vincent.
The tremor was at its most intense in Lagos and Portimão and less so in Lagoa and Silves, according to the Meteorological Institute.
The Faro Emergency Operations District Centre received one call from a citizen regarding the incident and several people asked the local bombeiros for further information. No damage was caused by the tremor.
