Earth continues to tremble on Azores island of Faial

The seismic cluster has continued on the Azorean island of Faial. Yesterday, locals were shaken by a quake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, again in the offshore region close to Capelo (where there is an undersea volcano). The quake was at a level in which IPMA meteorological institute explains “parked cars sway, windows, doors and crockery shake; glass and crockery rattle or clink, while walls or wooden structures may creak”. See IPMA meteorological authority website, for picture of the cluster of earthquakes that have been taking place recently. Faial’s last volcanic eruption came in 1957-1958.
