Eugene Laverty and Miguel Praia are on Phillip Island in Australia with their Parkalgar Honda Team this weekend hoping to make a flying start to the 2010 World Supersport Championship, which has its second round at the Portimão track between March 26 and 28.
Meanwhile, seven Le Mans Series teams visited the Motor Park last week to conduct tests. The exercise was also designed to give drivers experience of the new track which will hold the competition’s only night-time stage in the Algarve on the weekend of July 16 and 17.
Before then the Portuguese Touring Car Championships visit on May 16 and 17 with the participation of Ginetta Sports Cars, a brand which has been produced in Yorkshire since 1958.
