THE WINTER Wolly Charity Fun Night, held recently at Chefe António’s Restaurant in Carvoeiro, raised a total of 3,740 euros in aid of Associação de Solidariedade com as Crianças Carenciadas do Algarve (ACCA), an association that helps children in need across the region.
Organisers would like to thank those who donated auction prizes, such as Carvoeiro Golf, Pestana Carlton Hotels and Meridien Penina Golf Resort Alvor, among others, and Chefe António for providing a fantastic meal and wine for the 100 or so people who attended, at a minimal cost to the charity.
The auction raised more than 1,000 euros and the raffle raised almost as much. The quiz went with a swing, the winning table receiving a case of wines. Simon Perry, master of ceremonies and quiz master, created a fun and competitive atmosphere, while youngsters Michelle and Phillipa worked like trojans selling raffle tickets. With the help of Susan, Debbie and Pam, the team was fantastic.
