€750 million for Nazaré luxury resort for seniors

Nazaré – famed for its killer waves much loved among surfers – is now set to become one of Europe’s top destinations for high class seniors.
Portuguese online newspaper Dinheiro Vivo has reported that German and Swiss investors are planning to invest a whopping €750 million on creating a luxury mega development for high-class seniors in the coastal town’s area of São Gião.
Dubbed Golden Sunset Resort, it will boast a swanky “international class” golf course and promises also to bring 1,000 much-needed jobs to the area.
The 250-hectare project is being spearheaded by German company Circle of Innovation Immobilien (COI).
Unsurprisingly, the first draft has been given a resounding “thumbs up” by the local authority and now investors are busy creating the final touches.
COI’s representative José Ova said the company had initially planned to build the resort in another country, but “Nazaré council’s commitment and effort” had changed their minds.
The town’s buoyant PS mayor Walter Chicharro has now said everything is being done so that work can get started on the development as quickly as possible.
