Albufeira marina is about to see work start on its ‘second phase’, characterised by new hotels, green spaces and a “romantic garden” lake with waterfall, decanting into the marina.
The €5 million project is due to begin next month and is designed to attract home-buyers in its wake.
Explained one of the marina business directors João Amaral: “the idea is to sell construction plots to investors afterwards”.
In all, there will be space for 36 plots (over an area of 10,930 square metres), apartments (22,379 square metres), commercial outlets (13,060 square metres) and hotels (26,680 square metres).
Work is expected to take until the end of the year.
Once completed, the vision for Albufeira Marina as presented by architect Sidónio Pardal in the municipal plan of 2007 will be concluded, explains national tabloid Correio da Manhã.
As the owning company adds, the plan involves 51% green space, 21% ‘wet area’ and the rest various types of construction.
