Minister for the Presidency Mariana Vieira da Silva has announced today that €40 million has been approved (by the Council of Ministers) to spend on “a very important reform” of the old CGD banking building to become the government’s ‘nerve centre’, with space for many of the different ministries, allowing for a “new way of working” (…) enabling networking in an articulated and integrated manner”, she said. The ministries of foreign affairs, defence and finance will not however move to the building which will be revamped over the course of the current legislature.
