Major improvements are due to be carried at several Algarve train stations and stops to make it easier for passengers to board trains.
A €2.1 million tender for the work was launched by national infrastructure authority Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) and published in State newspaper Diário da República this week.
Says IP, the improvements will focus on making sure the stops have the “adequate length and height” for passengers to board.
The work – which is expected to last 180 days – will be carried out at the stations and stops in Estômbar-Lagoa Grande, Alcantarilha, Mexilhoeira Grande, Luz de Tavira, Tavira, Castro Marim and Monte Gordo.
