Minister of Interior Administration José Luís Carneiro – an unsung champion within Portugal’s government given the smooth-running and success of his ministry – has just announced a €14 million contract to purchase 81 new wildfire combat vehicles. The money, covered by the RRP (Europe-funded Recovery & Resilience Plan) will go towards the acquisition of 59 forestry vehicles, and 22 tactical tank vehicles.
