After various reports in the media that former Altice head honcho Armando Pereira could have been breaking the terms of his house arrest (without electronic tags or a police presence at the gates of his mansion property) a court has now released him from the measure, slapping him instead with the largest bail surety in Portuguese legal history: €10 million. According to reliable sources, the terms of bail include not travelling abroad without authorisation and not contacting any fellow defendants in the case which holds defendants responsible for corruption on a massive scale in an alleged scheme that will have defrauded the State alone of more than €100 million.
