E-bike rental and sale company Martin’s E-bike changes hands

Martin’s E-bike, a company specialising in the rental and sale of electric bicycles, has changed ownership.

Previous owner Martin van den Hoek has announced “the sale of 100% of shares of Martin’s E-bike in Almancil (Beveon Lda) to Jan Doove and his wife Anne Marie”.

Jan Doove is a Dutch entrepreneur in the area of medical and mobility products in the Netherlands ( and is aiming to invest in green mobility in Portugal, the company says in a statement to the press.

Doove’s investment in Martin’s E-bike is his first step in this market in Portugal, it adds.

“Martin’s E-bike has realised an annual growth of 25% in sales and rental for the last three years and will continue to do so. This growth needs solid investment and that is the main reason that Martin’s E-bike teamed up with Jan and Anne Marie Doove and their investment company The Holding That Never Sleeps BV,” the statement also explains.

Martin van den Hoek will remain with the company to run the day-to-day business, while his wife Monique will be active as sales assistant in the e-bike store. “Our cooperation with current suppliers will be continued and intensified in the coming years,” he said.

Martin’s E-bike is described as the “largest specialised e-bike store in the Algarve” with over 100 e-bikes at the company’s showroom in Almancil ready for testing.

“With over 10 years of experience in e-bikes and a highly professional technical team in our workplace, Martin’s E-bike is the place to go if you are looking for city, trekking, mountain or folding e-bikes and many other models to choose from,” it adds.
