Tivoli Hotel & Resorts and the André Jordan group are once again organising the Portuguese qualifying rounds for ‘The Duke of Edinburgh Cup’, which will take place on May 31 at the Oceânico Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura.
The two top-performing players will qualify for the world final of the competition, which will take place in September in the UK.
Numerous national and international personalities are expected to attend the event, which besides the golfing tournament will also feature a gala dinner at the Tivoli Victoria as well as an award ceremony.
Portugal’s qualifiers are part of a string of youngsters from all over the world chosen by the charitable “International Golf for Youth” institution.
According to the institution, money raised at qualifying events “varies considerably”, but can “often exceed $75,000”.
Other qualifying events will be taking place in Barbados, Jamaica, South Africa, Bahamas and of course, England.
