Drugs crackdown

A MAJOR police operation in Loulé last week saw the GNR charge 57 individuals with possession of drugs.

The crackdown netted 53 Portuguese, one Briton, one Romanian, one Mozambican and one Russian.

Two Portuguese citizens, aged 33 and 34, were also arrested and charged with dealing in and possession of drugs.

A further 12 people were charged with motoring offences. Those arrested attended court in Loulé on the same day.

They were ordered not to leave the area and report regularly to the police station until their trial date.
