Opposition leaders have accused the government of political propaganda for not equipping GNR officers with portable drug tests for drivers.
An official complaint has been brought against the government and the Opposition is demanding to know how many devices have been distributed and how many fines have been issued. In August, the new drug test laws came into effect and around 5,000 tests should have been distributed. Each test costs 12 euros and is non-reusable, which could be the reason many officers have not been given the devices.
