Drug dealer unwittingly asks police officers to hide his drugs after crashing car

A 30-year-old drug dealer can count himself both lucky and unlucky after surviving a violent car crash only to unwittingly ask two off-duty police officers to hide his drugs before the authorities arrived.

The crash happened on Tuesday on the IP3 road in Viseu, ironically near a small town named Fail.

It was around 1.30pm when the two police agents, one GNR and the other PSP, not wearing their uniforms, spotted a car that had crashed against the road’s guard rail.

They stopped to provide assistance but were surprised when the man asked them to “hide a plastic bag” for him before the authorities arrived.

The agents’ suspicions were confirmed when they searched his car and found 1,048 doses of hashish and 22 of ecstasy.

“The man is a known drug dealer and was arrested,” Viseu GNR spokesperson told reporters.

Further searches to his house led to the seizing of an extra 89 doses of hashish, 24 of cannabis and seven of cocaine. GNR police also confiscated €436.50, three weapons and brass knuckles.

No mention was made of whether the man had sustained serious injuries, only that he was taken to Viseu Hospital before appearing before a judge.
