Drug bust at Cordoama

Two tonnes of hashish was seized on January 25 at Cordoama beach in Vila do Bispo.

A spokesperson from the Aljezur Costal Control told Lusa news agency: “62 bales of hashish, amounting to around two tonnes in weight, have been retrieved from a high-speed boat.”

The raid took place at approximately 2.40pm and a foreign male was arrested.

An onlooker told the Algarve Resident: “There were not many people present at the site, six or seven at the most, and I only saw one man being arrested by the GNR.”

The suspect, who at the time of the incident had no form of identification on him, will now appear before the Court of Lagos.
