Algarve Natural, a photography exhibition featuring dramatic natural landscapes of the region, is being inaugurated tonight (Friday) at the new multi-use hall in Carvoeiro, Lagoa, at 6pm.
Running until August 16, the exhibition will showcase the work of two photographers, Jorge Fonseca and António Marques, who met by chance on a clifftop near Carvoeiro while pursuing their hobby for photography four years ago.
Having lived in the Algarve for many years, Évora-born Jorge Fonseca and António Marques, from Mozambique, aim to capture “magical moments” through photography, showing their artistic vision of the natural Algarve.
The Algarve coastline and its diversity of elements that provide “unique moments, such as the sea and its tides and majestic cliffs”, are explored preferably during dusk or dawn, “the best times of the day to photograph”, they say.
The exhibition will also mark the opening of the new multiuse hall of the Carvoeiro parish council.
Located on Rua do Barranco (the road out of Carvoeiro) where the health centre was previously located, the premises have been revamped to become a multipurpose area where exhibitions, workshops and other cultural events will take place.
Visitors to the exhibition tonight will be served a complimentary glass of wine sponsored by Quinta dos Vales, wine and art park in Estombar.
Algarve Natural exhibition is open daily from 6pm to 11pm.
