Two agricultural workers in Monchique were hurt, one seriously, when a crane they were using crashed suddenly through the roof of a nearby house.
The accident happened as the workers were trimming cork oak trees near Chapadinha. The crane tipped “unexpectedly”, wrote Correio da Manhã newspaper, causing both men to “fall violently” through the roof of a house on adjoining land. The men fell right into the kitchen.
Fortunately, none of the three people living in the house were in the kitchen at the time.
