Professional wrestling makes its Algarve debut as this continent’s eight best performers fight out the European Championship at the Portimão Arena tonight (Friday) and tomorrow evening.
The World Stars of Wrestling-organised spectacular features many well-known names from the popular sport such as German multiple world champion and US ECW league star Ulf Herman, dynamic English rivals Jonny “The Wonderkid” Storm and Jody Fleisch, fellow Britain Johnny Moss, Dutch and Spanish champions Kenzo Richards and Juan Casanova as well as local favourite and wild card entry “Mad Dog”.
Tickets for the 9pm sessions, which will also be attended by Hollywood martial arts icon Rob van Dam and American superstars Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch and Joe E Legend, are priced between five and 30 euros and can be obtained on the door or online at www.pavilhaoatlantico.pt/ www.blueticket.pt.
