My mother, Dorothy Boulter, passed away on Sunday, August 6, at over 105 years of age.
Dorothy owned and ran the Solar Penguin, a small hotel on the Praia da Rocha clifftops for over 45 years. She retired in 2007, moving to her new home in Estômbar where she died.
Her funeral will take place from 10.30am on Friday, August 11 at Igreja Matriz São Tiago in Estômbar at 11am.
The church is a beautiful national monument and featured in the feature film The Right Juice, directed by her grandson Kristjan Knigge and written by him in collaboration with David Butler-Cole, of amateur dramatic and revue fame in the Algarve.
