Wolf Valley’s annual Charity Day, on Sunday June 20 at Vale do Lobo, promises to be bigger and better than ever. The organisers are hoping that visitors to this day-long fundraising event, which includes golf tournaments, fun activities for the family and a live broadcast by Kiss FM, will help the charity beat the staggering 68,000 euros raised at last year’s event. Funds raised will provide vital support to needy local causes including A.S.C.A (Almancil Community Centre), the Jardim Infantil de São João da Venda and A.S.M.A.L home for the mentally handicapped. Make sure you come along for the chance to buy or win signed memorabilia from England Rugby World Cup hero, Jason Leonard, England Football Captain, David Beckham, Portuguese football star, Luís Figo, and the Portuguese team, together with a valuable electric golf buggy.
The day starts at 7.30am with amateur golf tournaments on the Royal and Ocean Golf courses at Vale do Lobo. Other activities include a tombola, with the chance to win rounds of golf, accommodation and many quality prizes, a premier raffle including flight tickets and autographed sporting memorabilia, and games for children, which begin at 10.30am. The finale of the day will be the gala dinner, at which the results of a silent auction of valuable items, currently taking place at Vale do Lobo, will be announced. Be sure to get your bid in before 8pm on June 20, simply by entering your details and bid amount on the sheet next to the desired article – the highest amount recorded secures the item.
Packages are still available including golf and gala dinner as well as dinner only. Entry to the daytime activities, excluding the golf tournaments, is free, so don’t forget to bring the family!
