THE CHARITY Castelo de Sonhos is really short of cash to deliver clothes, food and practical furniture where it is needed, especially to fire victims in the Alentejo. Also, vans need maintaining and petrol is expensive, so please help by coming Saturday, September 10, from 6.30pm, to the Picnic in the Park.
The event will take place at the Biological Zoo, which is 7km along the road to S. Marcos de Serra, at the back of Silves after the cemetery. It’s easy to find and park, and a lovely place. Just arrive with all your friends, unload your crystal glasses, candelabras and creature comforts!
Three charcoal grills will be alight for you to grill your own food and, if you let organisers know how many of you will be coming, they will also provide you with sardines and salad. There will be music by a Portuguese accordionist, exotic belly-dancing while you buy tickets for the raffle, and probably a few other surprise performers.
