Don’t forget! Clocks go back an hour on Sunday morning

Portugal will set its clocks back one hour at dawn tomorrow, October 30, initiating winter time.

On Sunday morning (October 30) in mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Region of Madeira, at 02:00, clocks must be set back 60 minutes to 01:00.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the change will be made at 01:00 am on Sunday, moving to 00:00.

The current time change regime is regulated by a directive (Community law) dating back to 2000. It provides that each year clocks are set forward one hour on the last Sunday of March and back one hour on the last Sunday of October, marking the start and end of daylight saving time.
