An animal welfare association in Lisbon refused to accept 500kg of animal food because it had been donated by an organisation supporting bullfights. The União Zoófila, which provides shelter for abandoned animals, said it was “a question of coherence”. The Federação Portuguesa de Entidades Taurinas, the Portuguese federation of bullfighting entities, said the rejection was an example of how the animal cause had become a business.
