Donate your hair for cancer

YOUR HAIR is needed for the 2girls2run initiative, to help support those who lose theirs due to illness and treatment associated with cancer.

Around 25 centimetres of hair is all that is needed to make a wig to help someone look and feel better about themselves. Participants who choose to join this initiative will benefit from a new hairstyle, while helping others who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

Those wanting to take part will be asked to have before and after photographs taken and to collect sponsorship to donate to the cause.

Hair will be cut free of charge in the last week of April at the Quinta Jacintina My Secret Retreat hair salon in association with the Francesco Group UK.

The hair makeovers will be revealed during the launch evening of 2girls2run at Vilamoura Casino on May 2.

To be part of this initiative, please contact Quinta Jacintina My Secret Hotel on 289 350 090 or leave a message, with your contact details, at the reception by April 12.

Local residents Amanda Mortimer and Shirley Emílio started 2girls2run to raise money for local charity ACCA, and the UK’s Jane’s Appeal by running from one side of the Algarve to the other along the Algarve’s new Ecovia route over seven days in May.
