Domestic tragedy

A woman who poisoned her husband and then set light to their Évora home has told a court that she committed the crimes because she was a victim of domestic violence. Ana Paula has told the court that she never filed a complaint against her husband for fear of reprisals. He died trying to escape the flames as his wife shut doors and windows and went out to collect one of their children.
