Domestic dilemma

Many victims of domestic violence stay with their partners due to the legislation that regulates child custody and access after divorce. The dilemma was highlighted last week by the Institute of Support for the Child (IAC) and the Portuguese association of women jurists (APMJ). IAC’s president Dulce Rocha said that the law needs “urgent change” in order to safeguard mothers and even the children themselves.
