MULTICOLOURED life-size fibreglass dolphins appear frozen in mid air as they leap and dive along the edge of Albufeira Marina. This surreal open-air spectacle is the product of 35 artists from home and abroad who were invited by Albufeira Marina to each paint one of the fibreglass replicas. Recently opened, the exhibition will run until December when children will elect the best five dolphins. There will then be a grand public auction of the dolphins to raise money for local community organisations.
Also inaugurated at the opening of the “Dolphins and Art” exhibition was the new Albufeira Marina Art Gallery, a new space dedicated to Albufeira culture and currently displaying the works of five artists resident in the region: Brad Hart, João Marco; Manuel Moreira, Otelo Fabião and Paulo Serra.
