Dogs rounded up

Three dogs from a large pack of strays wandering the port area in Portimão, and which carried out savage attacks on two different men in recent weeks, have been rounded up by the authorities and the maritime police in collaboration with the Lagoa municipal authority.

They will be placed in kennels for eight days with the hope that potential owners can be found to adopt them. The animal protection association in Portimão, ADAP, fears that the dogs may have to be put down if new owners cannot be found.

The three dogs are part of a pack of around 30 roaming wild in the port area where they are said to have carried out other attacks.
