Faro GNR carried out a special operation to inspect dangerous and potentially dangerous dogs, which were not registered, in the Algarve.
The action resulted in the impoundment of five dogs, all found to be not sterilised, which is mandatory except for authorised breeders.
Two American Pit Bull Terriers were impounded in Loulé, both being walked by a 10 year old.
The other three dogs, a Rottweiler and two Dogo Argentine, were seized in Portimão.
All five dogs were placed in municipal kennels, with the owners of the last three being able to collect them after paying fines and sterilisation costs.
