A six year old Portuguese boy has been hospitalised following an attack by a 10-month-old dog at a friend’s house in Loulé on April 10.
The boy, who was transferred from Faro hospital to Dona Estefânia children’s hospital in Lisbon, tripped over the animal, which attacked him, leaving serious head and facial injuries.
A spokesman for the GNR told the Algarve Resident that the owner of the dog is a PSP agent, however, the animal is not a police dog and is not of a dangerous breed.
