Algarve’s hospitals and health centres welcome 136 training doctors

Doctors roundly reject government’s 1.6% pay deal

Following 14 months of fruitless negotiations, the country’s syndicate of doctors has said the 1.6% pay deal presented to them today by the government “makes no sense at all”. Details of the government’s offer were passed to the doctors unions shortly before 3am; giving very little time for them to consider the proposal before the next round of negotiations. FNAM, the national federation of doctors, have called the tactic “an enormous disrespect”, as well as “incompetent”.
