Doctors’ meeting with health minister ends without agreement

The meeting yesterday between doctors’ syndicates and minister of health Manuel Pizarro ended without any kind of breakthrough, but Pizarro stresses he is not giving up and hopes for consensus very soon. “We will have another meeting next meeting which I hope will be more conclusive”, he told reporters. Doctors are thus continuing with their work-to-rule over ‘extraordinary hours’, and have scheduled a new strike in November.
