In another horrific case of violence against women, a man has brutally battered to death the divorce lawyer handling the breakup of his marriage on behalf of the wife.
Francisco Bord’Água, 52, is reported to have waited for lawyer Natália de Sousa to open her upstairs office for the afternoon in Estremoz before “throwing her to the ground and crushing her skull”.
Reporting on the horrific killing, Correio da Manhã newspaper, said the businessman – known to be aggressive – was arrested shortly afterwards and “straight away confessed to the crime”.
His distraught wife told reporters that Bord’Água had started threatening both the lawyer and herself after Natália de Sousa sent him the letter that informed of the divorce proceedings.
“I was always treated badly by him,” she said – adding that she had repeatedly been to the police to try and press charges against her husband for domestic violence.
