Portuguese citizens are “generally unsatisfied with and distrustful of Portuguese politics”. This was the main reason why nearly 70% of the country did not vote in the latest European elections, according to the results of a European Union (EU) survey conducted in May which were revealed this week, ahead of the October 6 legislative elections.
It involved over 1,000 Portuguese citizens, 69% of whom said they did not vote in the European elections.
