Distance no object!

The third round draw for the Portugal Cup has not been kind to SC Farense and Lusitano VRSA who face long and arduous trips to the Azores and Madeira. Add in the fact that SC Olhanense, last out of the hat, have to travel to Fátima then the total distance travelled by the three teams will be some 6800kms – equivalent to a return trip to New York!

The draw was organised in such a way that the Primeira Liga teams will all play away against lower league opposition.

Non-league 1º Dezembro entertain Benfica; FC Porto travel to non-league Gafanha whilst Segunda Liga Famalição are at home to Sporting Lisbon.

The games, to be played over the weekend of October 15-16, see Farense tackle Praiense on the US Airforce base island of Terceira, in the Azores, whilst Lusitano VRSA fly to Madeira to do battle with Sanjoanense.
