Former Brazilian president Dilma Rouseff has written the preface to a new book – on the Marquês investigation – written by José Sócrates. The book, says Observador online, is due out ‘in the coming days’. Ms Rouseff, impeached back in 2016 and removed from office, has called the Marquês investigation ‘scandalous’. She points out in the preface that: “the denouncement of (Mr Sócrates’) supposed involvement in corruption was only made official a year and a half after he had been incarcerated in a prison, which in itself would scandalise any defender of the Democractic State of Law. And all this happened under the eyes of public opinion in Portugal”.
