Discover the Algarve’s wine culture with new tasting tour

New Algarve wine tour gives participants “flexibility to choose which vineyards to visit”

A new weekend-long Algarve wine tasting tour has been unveiled. Entitled ‘Roads to Wine’, the event will feature a hop-on, hop-off bus making stops at five wineries in Portimão and Lagoa on May 6 and 7.

Say organisers, participants will have the “flexibility to choose which vineyards to visit and which wines to taste, all while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Algarve.”

The Algarve wineries taking part in the event are Quinta da Penina, Quinta dos Santos, Quinta dos Vales, Arvad Wines and Morgado do Quintão.

“We are thrilled to offer this unique experience to wine enthusiasts visiting or living in the Algarve,” says organiser Maria Loureiro de Lemos.

“We wanted to help people access the vineyards and be able to drink freely without having to worry about driving home, so we partnered up with Vamus Algarve which offered two electric buses for the weekend. Our goal is to showcase the region’s rich wine culture and provide participants with a fun and unforgettable weekend exploring some of the best vineyards the Algarve has to offer.”

“With its stunning landscapes and renowned vineyards, the Algarve is the perfect destination for a wine tasting adventure. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover the region’s hidden gems and indulge in some of the best wines Portugal has to offer,” the organisers add.

Admission to the event costs €20 per person and includes a glass of wine and 10 tastings (two at each of the vineyards visited). The event will take place between 2pm and 7pm on both days.

Tickets can be purchased online.
