Meeting point in Alvor: Morabito de São Pedro

Discover Portimão and Alvor under the moonlight

Portimão Council is organising another series of its popular nighttime walks which will be held every Thursday this month.

Three of the walks will be held in Portimão (July 2, 16 and 30) and will take participants on a tour of the town’s most emblematic locations. The meeting point is Praça Manuel Teixeira Gomes at 9pm.

Walks in Alvor, which will explore the village’s Islamic heritage, will be held on July 9 and 23 and will also begin at 9pm at Morabito de São Pedro near the cemetery.

These “cultural nighttime walks” will follow Covid-19 guidelines, are limited to eight people and are free. More walks will be organised “if there is enough interest from people”, said the council.

The walks are guided by two staff from the local council’s culture department.
